This weekend the city will host several types of events. We have chosen those that will help our students of the Spanish course get to know Valencia’s cultural richness and diversity.

Valencia opens 2020 by adding an original initiative to its cultural programming.

has come! A festival that combines art and gastronomy through experiences to enjoy with all the senses.
The concept of the festival stems from a perfect match between art and gastronomy through unique gastro-cultural experiences.

Renowned chefs with Michelin stars await us in museums, art galleries and other spaces to enrich our cultural visits with high quality tastings.

Among the participating spaces we find the IVAM, the Bancaja Foundation, Bomba Gens and other lesser-known art galleries that are worth visiting.

This weekend the following activities will take place:

Saturday 25th

– Mediterranean Art-Cook at IVAM, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Exhibition of photography and sculptures with Wine Tasting in Set Espai d’Art at 7 p.m.
Showcooking of monastic cuisine in Convent Carmen at 12.00 p.m.
Visit to the exhibition and medieval cellar with wine tasting at Bombas Gens at 12.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.

Sunday 26th

Architecture, lyric and gastronomy at Les Arts at the Palau de les Arts at 10.45 a.m.
Visit to art exhibitions and Ricard Camarena restaurant in Bombas Gens at 11.30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4.30 p.m.

Chinese New Year

This Saturday Valencia celebrates the Chinese New Year.

An event of great cultural value promoted by the Association of Chinese Businessmen of Manises with the support of the Valencia City Council and the Confucius Institute of the UV.

This celebration is an unmissable appointment of the Valencian cultural agenda and promotes Chinese traditions and cultures.

According to the Chinese calendar, we enter the year of the Rat. An animal of the zodiac that will bring good energies and prosperity to us in the coming months (January 25th, 2020 – February 11th, 2021).

To begin with, the Town Hall Square will turn into a big stage for the exhibition of Chinese cultures and traditions.

In fact, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the square will host many varied activities. Among them, tasting of typical dishes, traditional dance performances, Taichí and Kung Fu classes, the tea ceremony with traditional ceramics, leisure activities for children, Chinese calligraphy, workshops and debates.

In the afternoon, the 9th Parade will start at 6.30 p.m.in Calle Pelayo and will end at the Town Hall Square with a pyrotechnic show.

We really encourage you to attend this very interesting parade headed by the Chinese Dragon and composed of floats, wushu and taiji groups traditional costumes and dances ,etc.

This Sunday La Casa de la Mar hosts an event entirely dedicated to beer.

If you are passionate about this drink and also about the brewery world, do not delay in signing up for this event!
You can take part in the cultural beer tasting with a picoteo while enjoying electronic music.

And if you bring yourself to test your knowledge, you can also participate in the Trivial about beer and compete for one of the prizes reserved to the three finalist groups.

We usually do not miss the chance to enjoy a good concert during weekends…

This time we encourage you to go to listen to this interesting African-Spanish musical proposal.

This duo (Spain-Congo) offers us a fascinating repertoire full of different sounds, crossing the limits of varied styles such as organic music, electronics, post-rock and ambient music.

In addition, the two musicians will combine modern the traditional elements, playing a plurality of instrument and integrated the synthesizer to flamenco sounds and the fingerstyle technique.

If this proposal intrigues you and you want to see what it sounds like in person, don’t hesitate anymore!
