Today we’ll tell you some free events in Valencia during the Christmas holidays. The city offers plenty of events during the last two weeks of December and many of them are free. So grab a pen and a paper and take notes in order to not miss any of them!

Concerts:

San Miguel Musix Explorers on Tour includes a wide range of indie-rock and indie-pop bands all over Spain and they will be in Valencia on the 16 of December at the Sala Electropura de Ruzafa (Carrer del Pintor Salvador Abril, 20). The group performing on this night will be KUVE, an indie-rock band formed in 2009 whose compositor is the singer Maryan Frutos. Doors will open at 19:30 so we recommend you being there early as it’s a free concert and the place will quickly reach its capacity.

On the 16th of December there will be a great event organized by the Zedre Art Mural i Cultura Urbana where you can learn how to be creative and sustainable while having fun. At the festival you’ll find more than 30 artistic activities based on the values promoted by Zedre. There will be live music from jazz, to funk, to hip hop to reggae, with Valencian DJs like Tristan and 4Shots. And you’ll participate in workshops, yoga sessions, you’ll see Christmas markets, street art, poetry and a lot more! The entrance is free and it will take place at the Centre del Carme. At Palau de la Música de Valencia there will be the Christmas concert split in 2 sessions, both on the 17th of December but only one of them is free. The first one is at 11:30 a.m. with the performance of the Banda Municipal de Valencia directed by Fernando Bonete and it’s free entrance. The second one is at 19:30 with the Orquestra Filharmónica de la Universitat de València on stage directed by Hilari García. For the latter the entrance has a cost of 8€ that you can buy at the event or on their website.

A great concert is waiting for you on the 18th at Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas organized by the Asociación Orquesta and Coro del Palacio de Dos Aguas. The concert will start at 20:00 but it’s advisable to be there way earlier to ensure your place.

Markets:

Plaza de Benimaclet will host the 6th edition of the Benimarket, a Christmas market that sells from traditional food to handmade jewellery. The opening time is from 10:30 to 14:00. This initiative serves as publicity to the neighbor of Benimaclet as well as to some Valencian artists, designers and craftsmen who will sell their artistic creations.

Another artistic market called “El Creativo” can be found at La Escuela in Calle Denia 32 (Ruzafa) on the 16th from 17:00 to 20:00 and on the 17th from 11:00 to 20:00.

Another opportunity to see a Christmas Art Market will be at the Plaza del Patriarca on the days 21-22-23 and 24 from 12:00 to 22:00 as the end of the initiative La Plaza Se Mueve started in October.

A quite interesting market is organized by the Asociación de Artesanos Valencianos (Arteval). This is a 27 stands long market located at Plaza de la Reina as the 16th edition of la Feria de Artesanía en Valencia. Is already on and you can visit it for free until its end on the 7th of January 2018. It’s open everyday from 10:30 to 14:00 and from 16:30 to 21:00.

A very entertaining festival is the Feria de atracciones de Navidad de Valencia that started on the 25th of November and it’ll stay until the 22th of January. It’s a festival for kids and adults with fairground rides, music, cotton candy and a lot more of funny activities to discover. The Feria de attracciones de Navidad is between Calle Ingeniero Manuel Soto and la Avenida de Francia (Puerto de Valencia America’s Cup).

Lastly but not least, is the running event called San Silvestre Popular Valenciana where you can see more than 17000 people dressed up with Santa clothes running all over the city center. The event will take place on the 30th of December and it will start at 20:00 in Calle Xàtiva in front of the North Station.
