After so much study we encourage all our students of the Spanish course to spend a lively weekend in Valencia.

Therefore, let’s take a look at the plans that will make us enjoy the deserved weekly rest.

Salón del Cómic 2020

The event that comic and illustration lovers most await has arrived. Throughout the weekend, the Valencia Fair will host this event dedicated to creativity and talent.

If you are lovers of the genre, the Salón del Cómic 2020 awaits you with a rich program that will make you live your passion by learning and having fun.

Among the numerous activities there will be round tables, illustration, drawing, and script writing workshops and even talks with multidisciplinary approaches. These talks will bring together artists and professionals from other sectors, such as sociologists, psychologists and experts in new technologies.

Furthermore, the event will host an exhibition space where readers will find more than 200 publishers and comic stores presenting their latest news books.

As usual, there will be special guests like Joe Bennet, the Hulk cartoonist, who will participate for the first time in a European comic fair.

Beside, many Spanish artists will be attending the event. For instance, Antonio Altarriba, the 2019 National Comic Award winner or Susanna Martín, known for his graphic novels focusing on women.

And,for sure, Valencian cartoonist and illustrators like Paco Roca, Cristina Durán, Senfo, and many others will take part in it.

In addition, the fair foresees a section exclusively dedicated to cosplay. The Academy Cosplay offers an incredible range of activities like introduction to different techniques workshops: molds, facial bodypaint, armor creation, 3D printing and design and much more.

Finally, if you feel like knowing personally some of the artists and their artworks, you can do so visiting the Artist Alley area or in the Exhibition space.

The Rivendel invites us to another of his international musical proposals.This time we will enjoy an Argentine rock concert performed by Mil Horas Argentine tribute Rock.

This duo will delight us playing acoustically a repertoire of famous Argentine rock songs.

In addition, the Rivendel invites us to enjoy doubly by tasting a gastronomic combo of Fernet-Coca and choripán.

A small trip to Argentina through music and with a touch of gastronomy.

David Bowie por Samuel Reina

Saturday 29 at 1 p.m.
La Casa del Mar, Avenida Vicente Blasco Ibáñez Novelista (Alboraya)

With this concert entitled “Bowie Me”, Samuel Reina pays tribute to the White Duke in a very personal way.

His performance in acoustics will lead us to know the different Bowie’s artistic stages by playing a very long song composed of 30 different songs’ fragments.

The concert will take place at La Casa del Mar, a charming space that organize very often activities in the weekend.
A unique concert to remember one of the most original and important artists of our times …

“Nekrassov”

This weekend the Teatro Principal will host “Nekrassov”. The only comedy written by Jean-Paul Sartre, produced by Teatro del Abadía of Madrid.

This comedy, set in the Cold War era, is a fun satire focused on criticizing the use of mass media as an instrument of political and economic propaganda.

Although it was written in the past, the work recalls the current situation where the right to information is being hampered by fake news, misinformation and manipulation of public opinion.

A work that will make us reflect on individual freedoms and human contradictions.

Finally we remind you that this weekend the 43rd Fair of the Old and Used Book will be opened. As usual, the fair that will take place in Gran Vía Marqués del Turia until March 22.

Furthermore, Fallas 2020 will officially start this weekend with two events.

The first one is the Amstel mascletá that will take place this Saturday at 20.00 in the Marina of Valencia nearby Veles e Vents.It is a sustainable mascletá that will reduce a 70% of waste and that will open the long list of pyrotechnic Fallas shows.

The second one is the Cridà which, as every year, will take place on Sunday, March 1 at Torres de Serrano, at 8:00 p.m.

There are many things to do this weekend so we do not need anything else to spend a lively weekend in Valencia!
