If you still don’t know what to do in the next few days, our suggestions for cultural events in Valencia will be very useful.
For this weekend, we have chosen some plans that will make comic and live music fans happy.

Let’s take a look at them in detail!

Día de la Dona Festival

Friday 4, from 4pm
Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, Av. del Profesor López Piñero 7
Free event

This Friday, Valencia celebrates Women’s Day with an all-female festival.

The Día de la Dona festival is a unique festival, as it is the only one in Spain in which only female artists participate.
In this 5th edition, the City of Arts and Sciences will be playing dance, techno, electronic and R&B music.

In addition to national and Valencian artists, this year’s line-up includes international names.
A total of 19 artists, producers, DJs and singers will be livening up Friday evening on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Sounds too good to miss, doesn’t it? 😊

Salón del Cómic de Valencia 2022

From Friday 4 to Sunday 6
Fira de Valencia, Fires s/n, Valencia

The second edition of this festival entirely dedicated to the world of comics returns to the Feria de Valencia.

The programme, which will run throughout the weekend, is very rich and varied, with activities aimed at fans of all ages.
In fact, there will be talks, meetings with artists, youtubers and actors, exhibitions and cosplay competitions.

The public will also have the opportunity to meet their favourite authors at the signing sessions.
More than 50 artists will be attending this year’s fair. Among them, international authors such as the Canadian Seth or the Swedish Linnea Sterte and Spanish cartoonists, some of them winners of the National Comic Prize, such as Paco Roca, Cristina Durán, Magius, etc.

If you are lovers of this genre, don’t miss the opportunity to live an immersive experience in the world of comics and fantasy…

Finally, we invite you to consult the full programme of activities here.

Ban the Band. Indie Rock Party

Saturday 5 at 7.30pm
Radiocity, Calle Santa Teresa 19 bajo
Ticket: 8-10 euros

This Saturday Radio City pays tribute to British rock with a lively evening of live music.
The band Ban the Ban will take to the stage with a repertoire of the most popular (and danceable) rock, indie and punk rock songs from the UK.

There will be no shortage of covers of key groups of the genre, such as Artic Monkeys, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Muse, etc.

A very lively plan in the heart of the Carmen district, ideal for lovers of live music.

Ruta gráfica. El diseño del sonido de Valencia

Till 12th June 2022
IVAM, Calle de Guillem de Castro 118
Free entrance

The Ruta gráfica. El diseño del sonido de Valencia (Graphic route. The sound design of Valencia) brings us closer to less popular aspects of what is known as “la Ruta del Bakalao”.

The Bakalao Route was the biggest clubbing movement in Spain, originated in Valencia in the 80s and 90s.

This exhibition, which is part of the programme of activities and initiatives of the World Design Capital Valencia 2022, focuses on the graphic production of this phenomenon.

It is, in fact, a journey that starts with traditional illustration and Valencian comics and passes through the sound revolution of the 1980s to arrive at graphic expressions with digital techniques.

The exhibition brings together interviews with professionals and people linked to graphic design (artists, producers, printers), a selection of posters and samples of merchandising.

We hope that our proposal of cultural events in Valencia will help you to make plans for the weekend😉

Finally, our Spanish school, El Rincón del Tándem, invites you to enjoy your stay in Valencia, without forgetting to practice your Spanish during your days off.

Happy weekend!
