Guillermo del Toro is a director and producer of Mexican cinema, awarded multiple prizes. Today in our blog we are going to tell you about the best movies of the famous Mexican director. He created such works as “The backbone of the devil”, “Blade II”, “Hellboy”, “The labyrinth of the faun” or “Pacific rim”. So, the two fall in love …

 

Orphanage (El orfanato)

This horror movie was very successful in Spain and won 7 Goya awards. The main character is Laura, who settles with her family in the orphanage where she grew up. Also, she wants to open a residence for disabled children. Of course, in this strange house the imagination of his son becomes increasingly dangerous. Thus, Laura begins to suspect that something evil is happening in the old building.

 

The Pan’s Labyrinth (El laberinto del fauno)

It is a fantastic drama, winner of 3 Oscars. The film is set in Spain in 1944 and tells the story of Ofelia, an 11-year-old girl. She travels with her mother to a town where the new stepfather of Ofelia, a captain of the Francoist army, has been assigned. One night, Ophelia discovers a strange labyrinth of nearby rains. Thus, she meets a faun who reveals that she is a princess and her father is looking for her. In order to be reunited with her family, the child has to face three tests.
