This weekend we encourage you to jump from one plan to another, to enjoy a bit of everything. Gastronomy, independent cinema, art, cultural visits…

In order for the students of our Spanish school to make the most of their stay in Valencia by enjoying the cultural offer of the city, we have selected different proposals.

Let’s take a look at them in more detail!

32 Mostra Proava

From 21st to 25th of April

This April one of the must-attend events for lovers of local gastronomy is back.

Mostra Proava, the Mostra de vinos y alimentos de la Comunidad Valenciana, celebrates its 32nd edition this year.

During these five days, we will be able to enjoy a rich variety of food and wine products from our region. Among them, wines, liqueurs, craft beer and other products such as sausages, jams, cheeses and sweets.

As in previous years, the event will take place in the Turia riverbed, under the Alameda Exhibition Bridge.

The opening hours of the exhibition are Thursday 21st from 5pm to 10pm and from 22nd to 25th April, from 11am to 10pm.

Valèiff. Valencia Indie Film Festival

Valèiff is an international independent film festival.

Like MADRIFF (Madrid), BARCIFF (Barcelona), SEVIFF (Seville) and LISBIFF (Lisbon), Valèiff organises monthly screenings of international films.

The festival includes 9 different categories: short films, short documentaries, medium-length films, animations, feature films, full-length documentaries, super-short films, webseries and music videos.

The festival takes place at the Artea Espai, which this Friday will host the screening of 9 works.

The screenings are free of charge, although it is necessary to register here.

Anni y Josef Albers. El arte y la vida

This exhibition is dedicated to this couple of German artists, representatives of modernity in the 20th century.

The exhibition, conceived by the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris and co-organised by the IVAM, focuses on the dialogue between the artistic productions of the two artists.

The exhibition offers an overview of the artistic trajectory of the Anni and Josef Albers and brings together 350 works organised chronologically.

Among them are paintings, engravings, textiles, photographs, design and some pieces of furniture from the Bauhaus period.

Visita guiada a la Casa de los Poetas

Villa Amparo, opens its doors to the public.

It is a neoclassical style villa that was built at the beginning of the 20th century in Rocafort.

The Villa is known for having been the residence of the poet Antonio Machado during the years of the Civil War, between 1936 and 1938. Here Machado received intellectuals and poets such as Octavio Paz, María Zambrano and Pablo Neruda.

The Villa is now a cultural centre called Casa de los Poetas (House of the Poets) and listed as an asset of local relevance.

From this Saturday 23rd of April, guided tours will be organised, every weekend from 1pm to 2pm.The visits include an exhibition dedicated to the poet and his literary legacy.

The visit does not require a previous reservation and is free of charge.

Finally, this weekend there are events committed to sustainable trade and consumption:

Al Vent Market, at the Tapinería Market, from 21 to 25 April. From 11am to 9pm
Market that promotes small entrepreneurs and local artists and craftsmen.

Il Market. Second-hand market “Everything for one euro” at Satchmo Swing. Sunday 24th, from 11am to 7.30pm.

Spring Market, at Casa Cabañal. Craft market where you can find unique and original items.
