Valencia is relatively flat region with mountains and natural parks in the interior so there is something for all levels. As you have probably noticed the spring in Valencia is slowly turning into summer. Make the best out of the pleasant temperatures and set off for a day hike before the boiling hot weather makes it impossible for you.

Parque Natural de la Albufera

The nearest trail from Valencia is in Albufera natural park. You can get there by bus from the city center. The trail connects local villages where you can stop for a lunch break. While in Albufera try the local dish All I pebre or Paella. After the walk take a bath on the El Saler beach.

Ruta del Agua

This easy trail is suitable for families and starts in the town square of Chelva (about 1 hour drive from Valencia). The route is about 3 hours long. You can even stop at ‘playeta’ and swim in the river.

Ruta de puentes colgantes

This is a rather short trail starting in a village of Chulilla. It should take you about 2,5 hours counting with the same way back. The main attractions of this route are the hanging bridges. After finishing the route don’t forget to explore Chulilla. The old village was built on a rock so the views are just astonishing.

Peña Cortada

This route will enchant you with its stunning views, although its biggest highlight is the ancient Roman aqueduct and 50 meters long trail inside a rock. The best starting point is the town of Chelva. If you want to hike the complete trail you should start from Calles.
