Are you ready to spend the next two days enjoying theatre, music and art? Our Spanish school El Rincón del Tándem tells you how to do it in this blog. Take a look down here 🙂

As every Friday we have selected some events so that our students of the Spanish course can enjoy theatre, music and art during the weekend.

Let’s see in detail what Valencia offer the weekend before Christmas…

Alicia en Wonderland – El regreso.

Until the 6th of January
Sala Russafa, calle Dénia 55
Ticket: from 14 euros

Thanks to the success achieved in the past years, this psychedelic comedy returns to Sala Russafa in its updated version. Alice in Wonderland is a free and modern interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s classic.

Taking up the critical spirit of the original work, director Chema Cardeña creates a world full of obstacles that Alicia will have to face when trying to enter the labour market.

The strange and grotesque characters of this adventure belong to an incomprehensible and hostile world in which nothing is what it seems.

Will Alicia come out of this hallucinatory journey?

Three musicians will play live the soundtrack of the play, composed of songs from The Rolling Stones, Lou Reed, The Police, etc.

A great chance for those who like this genre and do not like to stay out late…

La casa de Bernarda Alba

Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd, at 10 p.m.
Sala Off, calle del Turia 47
Ticket: 12-13 euros

This weekend, we encourage you to go to the theatre to see a milestone of the Spanish theatre.

Bernarda Alba’s house is a play written by Federico García Lorca, an essential author of Spanish prose, poetry and dramaturgy.

The Valencian theatre company TOTART ART3 bring this classic to the stage of Sala Off in a modern version that mixes acting with dance, music and projections.

An evergreen play that portrays a world of repression, lack of freedom and emotional frustration in which female characters are forced to live.

Therefore, we invite you to attend this show and to enjoy this multidisciplinary approach to the best Spanish theatre tradition.

As always, we hope our blog helps you enjoy a weekend full of theatre, music and art.

Finally, we encourage you to get to know our city under Christmas lights and join the cultural life in Valencia.
And by the way … don’t forget to practice your Spanish outside the classroom.

Have a nice weekend!
