The Filmoteca de Valencia will screen the feature films that are candidates for the 2022 Goya Awards in the categories of Best Film and Best New Director. In addition, each screening will be presented by a member of the film’s crew.

Jazz&Wine: Robert Lee Trío

Saturday 5, from 8pm to 10.30pm
Rivendel Restobar, Calle del Hospital 18
Fee: 6 euros

Jazz and Wine is a proposal from the Rivendell resto-bar. A nice place with a bohemian air that livens up the evenings in the Velluters neighbourhood with its varied cultural initiatives.

This Saturday the musical session will feature the Robert Lee Trio. A jazz band made up of double bass player and composer Robert Lee, pianist Issac Wisdom and singer Aida Stina Turek.

This trio invite us to a journey to distant lands through their own compositions inspired by Korean folk stories, full of romanticism and magic.

A concert that will make us experience unique emotions by evoking images from the Ghibli’s studio films.

Finally, the public will be able to enjoy a good red wine, taking advantage of the offer of a glass of wine for 1 euro, valid from 7pm.
You can get your ticket here.

Menús de Cine

Till February 12, from 1pm to 5pm
Price: from 25,00 to 40,00 euros

Menús de Cine is a gastronomic initiative that joins the events celebrating the Year of Berlanga and the Goya Awards 2022.

Undoubtedly, a perfect plan for film and gastronomy lovers 😊.

Menús de cine is an event in which 30 restaurants in the city take part, some of them with Michelin or Sol Repsol stars. All of them pay tribute to the Valencian film director and to cinema in general, through dishes inspired by Berlanga’s films, dishes that appear in them or dishes adapted to film themes.

For example, it will be possible to taste unique food, such as el arroz de bacalao y coliflor Calabuch or las alcachofas París y gambas Tumbuctú.

You can consult the list of restaurants, the menus and also make a reservation on the Valencia Cuina Oberta website.

Artistas y máquinas. Diálogo en el desarrollo del arte digital

Till March 20
CCCC Centre del Carme, Calle del Museo 2
Free entrance

We close our small selection of events with this interesting exhibition at the CCCC.

Artists and Machines. Dialogue in the development of digital art is an exhibition proposal inspired by the dialogue between art and modern reproduction machines.

Through installations that juxtapose the analogue and the digital, the material and the virtual, the public will enter the era in which artists began to make use of new technological tools.

Among them, graphic computers, portable video cameras and photocopiers, using to give birth to an original and groundbreaking art.

As always, we hope our post helps you to spend a nice first weekend of February in Valencia 😊

Finally, we encourage you to keep practising your Spanish outside the classroom, learning new words and expressions of common use.

Our Spanish language school El Rincón del Tándem in Valencia wishes you a happy weekend.

¡Hasta pronto!
