It’s Friday and we are getting ready to enjoy the well-deserved weekly rest. If you don’t have any plans yet for this weekend, our Spanish school El Rincón del Tándem suggests some in this blog 🙂

The weeks go by quickly, especially when we learn by having fun…

Therefore, we have selected some events so that our students of the Spanish course can spend this weekend enjoying music and art.
Let’s take a look at them!

V MUV!

Saturday 30th, from 11 am to 1.00 am
Las Naves y La Mutant, Calle de Joan Verdeguer 22
Free concerts
The V edition of the MUV festival will take place this Saturday.

The MUV! Urban Music Circuit of Valencia stems from the idea of promoting emerging music in urban spaces.

It is a project born from the synergies between cultural associations, independent producers and musical groups of Valencia.

Since its first edition that took place in Ruzafa neighbourhood, the Festival has been moving to other neighbourhoods and spaces of the city, defining itself as an itinerant project of socio-cultural revitalization.

Unlike last years, this edition will last just one day.
In fact, this Saturday program is quite diverse and foresees many activities. The first part of the day, from 11 am to 5 pm, will be dedicated to activities for children, all focused on creativity, music and ecology. The musical programming will begin from 5 pm.

Therefore, we encourage all lovers of live music to attend this long evening that will run until 01 am and have Marem Ladson as its main artist.

Finally, we point out that all concerts are free. If you want to take a look at the full program, please click here.

A pleasant plan to enjoy good live music 🙂

Jean Dubuffet . Un bárbaro en Europa

Till the 16th of February
IVAM, Calle de Guillem de Castro 118
Fee: 6 euros – free on Sundays

The IVAM is one of the most visited (by adults and kids) museums, especially during weekends.

Among the exhibitions the museum is currently hosting, we highlight the one of the famous French artist, Jean Dubuffet, creator of Art Brut (raw art).

This exhibition that brings together around two hundred works is a fascinating journey through rough art, which is developed according to three main axes: Célébration de l’homme du commun, Une ethnographie en acte and Critique de la Culture.

Through paintings, sculpture, engravings and objects from ethnological museums, we will be able to appreciate this art that reject academic aesthetic norms and the Western art official rules.

In fact, in this tour, in addition to the works of Dubuffet and other artists, we will find the creations of people with mental illness, children, prisoners or elements of folk art.

Finally, we inform you that this Saturday, at 6pm a free guided tour of the exhibition is planned.

A unique opportunity to appreciate a so rebel and so deeply human kind of art.

We love classical piano

Saturday 30th, at 7pm
Matisse Club, Calle de Campoamor 60
Ticket: 5,77 euros

We continue telling about live music plans. And this time we get close to classical music, which on more than one occasion has accompanied us during the weekend.

In fact, we suggest you to attend this live concert by the piano duo Araceli Ávila- Teresa Yañez.

This time the artists present a very eclectic repertoire that goes from classicism to romanticism and the contemporary era.
The musicians will delight us by playing composition by Listz, Chopin, Rachmaninov and Piazzolla.

A perfect plan to spend a quiet afternoon and appreciate greatest musicians of classical music.

Les Tendetes. Mercado de variedades

Saturday 30th and Sunday 1st
Mercado de Tapineria, Calle de la Tapineria 15
Free entrance

November is over and Valencia is preparing for Christmas.
If you like to do things well in advance and are already thinking about gifts for family and friends, this market is a good place to look for 😉

Les Tendetes is a market where you can find items and product from local commerce at cheap prices.

Between a delicious meal and a concert, why not take a walk to browse between original and unique objects?
A pleasant plan that may make you find that special gift you were looking for …

Finally, we inform you that from today until January 6th you will find ice-skating rink and a carousel at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
Also, Plaza de la Reina prepares for the Christmas holidays by hosting the Christmas craft market.

We hope our blog will help you set up the perfect plan for this weekend.

Spanish school El Rincón del Tándem wish you two nice days of rest and leisure.
And as always we encourage you to get to know Valencia and its people better, practicing Spanish outside the classroom.

See you Monday!
