When we communicate with another person we make them to transmit some information. You can be to ask something or report on it, which is a very important grammatical topic. During our Spanish courses we study all grammar in practical examples and in a structured way.

Also, today we will see the ways to give orders or advice in Spanish.

In the first case, we can use imperative mode.
Come esta tarta, está muy rica = Eat this cake, it’s very tasty
It is the positive imperative where we talk about .
Pase al despacho, le están esperando = Go to the office, they are waiting for you
Here is the positive imperative where we talk about usted.

In this case we use negative imperative and we talk about .

Here is an example of the negative imperative where we talk about usted with several people.

To soften the imperative we can accompany it with a por favor.
Ven aquí por favor = Come here please
Dígame su nombre por favor = Tell me your name please

Another way that we can use, is conjugated verb deber + infinitive.
Debes ver esta película, mola mucho = You must see this movie, it’s cool

In this example we give advice to someone we talk to .

Para llegar a Valencia tenemos que coger el tren a las 10 = To get to Valencia we have to take the train at 10
Here we give an instruction to ourselves.

Also, we can use verb poder in its conditional + infinitive form. In this case it is about cases when there is not much trust with the opponent.

¿Podrías prestarme 5€ hasta mañana? =Could you lend me € 5 until tomorrow?

¿Podría decirme dónde está la calle Colón? =Could you tell me where is Street Colón?

On the other hand, we can use verb importar in its conditional + infinitive form. In this way a very educated person speaks when he has little confidence.
¿Te importaría ayudarme en la cocina? =Would you mind helping me in the kitchen?
